CUSTOMS CLEARING

GI Freight Services offers customs clearance at all major ports and airports in South Africa. Import duties, taxes and Customs VAT are often levied on international shipments, calculations for these taxes are based on the shipment value. A reasonable idea of the amount payable to the Customs Department of the destination country beforehand by providing the commercial invoice with the value and a detailed description of the goods being shipped.

ATA CARNET

The ATA carnet is similar to the temporary import. The only difference is that the security deposit is lodged in the country of origin. The ATA carnet system eliminates the need for customs declaration, by giving instant recognition and acceptability by customs officials. The ATA carnet system is more expeditious than the temporary import.
